Scotfest Goch 2026 – A successful weekend in the heat of summer

group picture

On 19 and 20 June, the Vienna Pipes and Drums travelled to Scotfest, the 17th Scottish Festival in Goch, Germany, for a fantastic weekend of pipe band and solo competitions. With temperatures soaring throughout the weekend, it was a true test of endurance as well as musicianship—but our members rose to the challenge.

Band Competition

Saturday saw the band compete in three events: Grade 4A March, Grade 4A MSR, and the Open MSR. We were especially proud to welcome two members making their pipe band competition debut, an important milestone for both them and the band. Taking those first steps onto the competition field is never easy, and we are delighted to see new competitors joining our ranks.

Despite the challenging heat, the band delivered three enjoyable performances and gained valuable competition experience that will help us continue to grow as we prepare for future events.
