A very special edition of one of our favourite traditions is coming up: on Friday, 6 November 2026, Vienna Pipes and Drums invite you to join the 40th St. Andrew’s Night Ceilidh!

First held in 1985, the St. Andrew’s Night Ceilidh has become a much-loved tradition for Vienna’s fans of Scottish music, dancing and culture. Originally organised as a fundraiser for the Vienna International School Rugby Team by our fellow band member and former VIS teacher Colin Campbell, the Ceilidh is now hosted by Vienna Pipes and Drums – and 2026 marks the 40th edition of this very special event.
For the third consecutive year, we are delighted to organise the Ceilidh, once again in partnership with the Vienna Celtic Rugby Club. Proceeds from the evening will support the club’s youth teams while also helping Vienna Pipes and Drums continue to share Scottish music and tradition in Vienna.
An evening of Scottish music and dancing
Gather your friends and get ready for a fabulous evening of traditional ceilidh dancing, live music and great company!
This year’s ceilidh band will be led by Sileas Sinclair BEM, award-winning musician, arranger and Musical Director of the Oban Gaelic Choir.
Never danced at a ceilidh before? No problem at all – no previous experience is needed. All dances will be explained on the dance floor, so everyone can join in. Comfortable clothing is recommended, while kilts and Highland dress are, of course, more than welcome!
Throughout the evening, a cash bar brought to you by Flanagans will serve beer and wine, soft drinks and snacks, alongside a fine selection of Scotch whiskies.
The Ceilidh takes place at Veranstaltungszentrum Döbling, conveniently accessible by public transport. Please note that the venue is not wheelchair accessible.
Tickets are already on sale, and a limited number will also be available at the door for a higher price of €35. As spaces are limited, we recommend booking in advance.

2027 marks 30 years of Vienna Pipes and Drums, and we’ll be celebrating this milestone with a special anniversary concert. More details will follow – but make sure to save the date!
